Today was an eventful day.
Started off slow and everyone was busy. There were a few games that I really wanted to bring home to review, but there are 3 more days left.
I want to than Cris Birch of Modiphus for our interview. I learned some interesting things about some of their new/upcoming games. Here is the gist, not exact quotes as they were short handed and I took down the Highlights.
GG: What makes your version better than previous versions?
CB: This version assumes that as someone who wants to play a Star Trek RPG, you already have a basic knowledge of Star Trek. This rpg will also feature a living campaign.
GG: Is this set in a general Star Trek Universe or is this specific to one of the shows?
CB: The game is set in 2371. This puts it around the time of the Star Trek Generations movie. Prior to the Dominion War and after the destruction of the Enterprise, but in it you will be playing a side character or a captain of a different starship. This system is more about storytelling, the relationships between characters, and problem solving.
GG: Are there any sourcebooks?
CB: There are Quadrant and Division sourcebooks planned. Think of them like the thieves guide or magic-user guide.
GG: You are also featuring a Fallout Boardgame. Do you think that it translates enough to entice the video game players into buying it?
CB: There are currently 20,000 people playing it and they are fans of the game. This set is based on Fallout 4, they are currently working on Fallout 3, and will continue to work backwards from there.
