Hearts Of Attraction
MFG: R&R Games
#of Players: 2 – 5
Age Range: 14+
Overall Construction: This game has very simple construction. You have 25 heart shaped magnets. They are very smooth and semi-faceted. There is a red velvet bag that you can carry the game around in if you don’t want to carry them in the box. The box is nice and sturdy with plastic molded insides that basically have a ring to hold 24 of the hearts and a center spot so you can see the heart through the box. Personally, I prefer the box because it keeps the magnets a decent distance from any of my electronics.
Gameplay: Each player takes 1 heart, the other hearts will be spread out on the playing surface. Each player, in turn, will get to slide their heart across the table in an attempt to connect with other hearts. Normally the hearts will stick to each other, but if they are just touching edges you will get them too. If your heart does not connect with any other hearts you lose that heart. If have no hearts in your hand then you are out of the game. As long as you have hearts in your hand you can continue playing. The object is to collect the most hearts. After the last heart has been captured then everyone counts how many hearts they have to determine the winner.
Yes/No Recommend: This game is a blast. I disagree with the age range and the number of players that are recommended in this game. In a recent game we had 6 players and our youngest player was 5. The only obstacle we had with playing with someone that young was getting him to take his turns in the correct order. As long as you keep this game away from electronics and make sure no one is trying to eat/swallow the magnets all should be good. This game does not lose its replay value and is under $20. You can’t beat that. This game is also quick and does not require a lot of setup or tear down time, so getting in a quick game is easy.
Where To Get It: I have only run across this game in retail shops, but my copy was purchased at our local comics and game shop. If you would like to see more information on this game please visit their website at http://rnrgames.com/hearts-of-attraction
