I would like to say that I have downloaded this and played it a lot. It is immense fun and it can be incredibly hard. make sure you view the help page to learn how to play. We had so much fun playing this that I’m going to hunt down a copy of the physical card game or make one. We sat at dinner one night passing around my phone taking turns playing it and trying to advise each other on when to take the money or keeping track of the BOOMs for each other.
RUXED LLC RELEASES GOLD DIGGER FOR ANDROID
Olympia, WA—December 6, 2016. Digital creative agency, Ruxed LLC, has released “Gold Digger” on Google Play. Gold Digger is a press-your luck card game you can play in a minute, created by award-winning game designers and artists.
In Gold Digger, you and your arch rival are mining for gold. Your goal is to collect the most gold without causing too many accidental bone-jarring, cave-collapsing explosions. The Gold Digger app is based on the original card game by Origins Awards winning game designer, James Ernest, and the cards are illustrated by the Hugo Awards winning cartoonist and comic book artist, Phil Foglio.
The deck of 40 cards is shuffled at the start of each game. The player starts the game and draws as many cards as they want, in an effort to get as much gold as possible, before drawing a “Boom” card. If the player deposits the gold into the bank before drawing a “Boom” card, they keep the gold they just mined that hand. However, if they draw a “Boom” card, all gold obtained that hand is lost as the min caves in and the players turn is over. The person with the most gold at the end of the game wins!
“I’ve always loved playing James Ernest’s games ever since discovering them in the late 90’s and was thrilled when he agreed to let us create the Gold Digger app,” developer Dan Steeby said about the game. “We tried to keep it fast, simple, and fun: all the things I’ve always loved his games. You can get better with strategy, but Gold Digger is easy enough for the first time player.”
Project manager and designer Shyloh Wideman added, “James’ company, Cheapass Games, has a history of releasing free and low-cost games. We wanted to say thanks for that and to help share a game that we enjoyed playing with the online gaming community. Bringing Gold Digger to market and being able to offer it for free was our way of doing that.”
