Announcing the Winning Name of the Official Beer of 2016
After thousands of votes in the contest for the winning beer name of Gen Con 2016, one choice built upon its early voting lead and has been selected as the name of the Official Beer of Gen Con 2016. The Official Beer will be … 20-Sided Rye! Now, Sun King Brewing will begin the process of creating this amazing brew for Gen Con fans. 20-Sided Rye will tap live on Georgia Street outside of the Indiana Convention Center on Wednesday, August 3, and will become available throughout downtown Indianapolis at participating bars, restaurants, and select retailers throughout Gen Con 2016. Thank you to all those that submitted names, voted, and spread the word about this fun contest! Nearly 50% of all contest voters chose 20-Sided Rye as one of their top three names, so while there were many great finalist names, 20-Sided Rye commanded a large lead in voting. 2016 Dance Theme: Winter Enchantment
Winter is coming … to the Gen Con 2016 Dance! August in Indianapolis may be warm, but expect a spell of “Winter Enchantment” to make the 2016 Dance as “Cold as Ice.” Come “Let It Go” with your fellow gamers on the dance floor, as Gen Con will close out the last night of Gen Con 2016 with a blizzard of fun! As in years past, the dance will take place on Saturday (August 6) from 9 pm to 1 am in the Union Station Grand Hall. Best of all, the dance is FREE to everyone with a Gen Con 2016 badge. There will be a cash bar, and themed costumes are encouraged, but not required. Save the date!

Paizo Extends Multi-Year Co-Sponsorship
As announced earlier this week via media release, Gen Con has reached an agreement with Paizo, Inc, on a new multi-year Co-Sponsorship agreement. Paizo first joined Gen Con as a Co-Sponsor in 2013 with a three-year agreement. As part of this multi-year Co-Sponsor partnership, Paizo features an increased Exhibit Hall presence, more on-site marketing and branding, and the entire Sagamore Ballroom dedicated to Pathfinder events. This current Co-Sponsorship agreement will last through both Gen Con 50 and Gen Con 2018. GEN CON PARTNERS WITH PAIZO ON THREE YEAR CO-SPONSORSHIP

This new agreement will extend through Gen Con 2018.
