Gen Con Selects Tyler Jacobson as 2016 Artist Guest of Honor
Gen Con is excited to announce Tyler Jacobson as the Gen Con 2016 Artist Guest of Honor. An award-winning artist, Jacobson has created works for clients including Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Simon & Schuster, Paizo, Inc, Rolling Stone, and The New Yorker. As Artist Guest of Honor, Jacobson will host events, as well as have a prominent placement in the 2016 Art Show. “I am very excited to be invited to Gen Con this year as the Artist Guest of Honor,” said Tyler Jacobson. “Words really can’t describe how much this means to me. Fantasy game art has been my career for nearly eight years now and to be recognized by the industry and my peers is more than I could ever ask for. I am looking forward to meeting lots of great new people at the event and catching up with so many wonderful artists I have followed and worked with for many years now. I absolutely love the community we have all built together, and I want to especially thank everyone at Gen Con who continues to support and further celebrate the passion we all share.”
Recent Gen Con Artist Guests of Honor have included Tony DiTerlizzi (2015), Terese Nielsen (2014), Brom (2013), Todd Lockwood (2012), and Jeff Miracola (2011). In a previous press release, Robin Hobb previously was announced as the 2016 Gen Con Author Guest of Honor.

NUVO Returns as a Gen Con 2016 Media Partner
Gen Con has reached an agreement with NUVO magazine to return to the show as a Gen Con Media Partner. An inaugural Media Partner in 2015, NUVO provided expansive coverage of the convention, and intends to increase its editorial and on-site activities in 2016. NUVO joins formerly announced 2016 Media Partners GeekDad and American Mensa. In addition to on-site coverage, NUVO works with Gen Con each year to create a Beginner’s Guide. These free guides for Gen Con 2016 have quick reference maps, convention hours, key events, and great info for first-time attendees. NUVO will release Beginner’s Guides in all news stand copies of their weekly magazine.
