Origins Game Fair Announces First Annual Film Festival
Origins Film Festival Calls for Entries
Columbus, OH March 31, 2016- Origins Game Fair announces the first annual Origins Film Festival, June 16-18, 2016 (www.originsfilmfestival.com), showcasing independent feature and short films of any genre related to gaming, sci-fi, or fantasy.
“We are excited to add a new element to the show with the Origins Film Festival,” said John Ward, Executive Director of GAMA. “We are always looking for fun, family friendly events and we were lucky enough to partner with Cavegirl Productions to make this one happen.”
Submissions are now open, and the final deadline is May 1st, 2016. Filmmakers may submit exclusively via FilmFreeway at filmfreeway.com/festival/OriginsFF or by clicking the FilmFreeway button at www.originsfilmfestival.com. Accepted films will have the opportunity to promote and sell copies of their film or related merchandise at the OFF Showcase booth during the convention.
The festival will be juried, with prizes for the winning films. Awards will be given for:
– BEST FEATURE
– BEST SHORT
– BEST GAMING FILM
– BEST SCI-FI FILM
– BEST FANTASY FILM
Other special events are planned to accompany the screenings. Screenings will not be ticketed, but an Origins badge will be required for admission.
