American Mensa to Sponsor VIG Lounge, Serve as Media Partner
Gen Con also has reached an agreement with American Mensa, whose organization will sponsor Gen Con 2016’s VIG Lounge and join as a Media Partner. In their capacity as Media Partner, American Mensa will provide additional coverage support of the convention, connecting their membership base with the Gen Con community.
American Mensa provides social events and networking opportunities for the profoundly intelligent. If you are particular about your grammar, enjoy clever math humor, and delight in debate on every topic from fission to fashion or artificial intelligence and artificial ingredients, you have found the place to be.
Industry Insider Requests for Consideration Ending Soon
Are you a member of the game industry? Do you want to share your experience and knowledge with Gen Con attendees? The Industry Insider program needs you! Submissions are now open for the program, but don’t delay, the deadline for consideration is Monday, April 11. You can send in your submission at this Industry Insider page on gencon.com. Sign-in is required. The program’s advisory panel will choose applicants as Featured Presenters for the program as space allows.
The Gen Con Film Festival focuses on genres that appeal to gaming attendees. These include, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, gaming, thriller, or anything geek and gamer-friendly. The festival welcomes comedies, dramas, live action, animated, and related documentaries. For rules and instructions on how to enter, please visit our Film Festival page.
The extended deadline for submissions is TOMORROW at midnight, April 1, 2016 (Pacific). Those that miss the extended deadline may still submit via Without a Box until April 15, 2016 for an additional fee.
Event Review and Late Event Submission
The Gen Con Events team is currently reviewing all submitted events, and is placing them as time and space allows. With a record number of events submitted thus far, the review process will continue through April. Events marked “Accepted for Consideration” have been tentatively approved, but time and space have not been assigned for that event.
Gen Con will continue to accept and review events as long as the team has space to accommodate them. If you want to run a game, seminar, workshop, or other activity at Gen Con, submit it at the “Submit Events” page. Sign-in is required to submit an event. The Events team will review late events as they have the opportunity to, and late events may not be included in the first release of event listings in May or included in the Program Book’s Event Charts. Late events will appear in the online Event Registration site as they are approved.
