News Time with Game Gumshoes: Star Realms Expansions
We have lots of news from White Wizard Games to share – today we launched the first digital Star Realms Crisis expansion! I wanted to share our newsletter with you below to keep you updated. If you would like to speak with Rob Dougherty our CEO and Game Designer, about this latest expansion, please let me know. Also, I would be happy to send you a code if you would like to try it out for yourself – let me know and I can send one for the base game and/or the new Crisis expansion.
Star Realms Digital Game Update – Crisis: Bases & Battleships! Crisis: Bases & Battleships is now available as an expansion on our Star Realms app! Players get to play with twelve new cards in their trade deck, and are challenged by an awesome new campaign. Plus, we’ve added multiple challenges in all of our campaign missions to give more replayability with this new update. The Crisis: Battleships & Bases expansion is now available on all platforms for $1.99. Players can download it on the Star Realms Digital Download page or by selecting it for online play on their smartphone.
Star Realms Physical Card Game Update – Colony Wars!
Colony Wars makes it’s galactic debut. Colony Wars is an all new stand alone expansion for Star Realms. This 128 card set features an all-new 80 card trade deck, and also comes with Authority Cards, Scouts, Vipers and Explorers, so it can be played as a standalone two-player game. You can also combine it with the original Star Realms for a 2-4 player game. We expect it to hit retail stores in time for the holidays. Please help us get the word out so that retailers will carry this exciting new expansion.
Dustin Clingman, creator of the Megahaulin podcast, has written about the new Star Realms Colony Wars Expansion on our blog. Also coming for the holidays is the new 15-card Cosmic Gambit expansion pack, with 13 Gambit cards (12 new and 1 reprint of Wild Gambit), 1 outpost token card and 1 rules card. We will cover this in more detail in an upcoming blogpost (“Like” our Star Realms Facebook Page to see updates on new blogposts in your Facebook feed).
BoardGameGeek Star Realms Tournament League A note from the organizer: “The BoardGameGeek Star Realms League is an ongoing league designed to group players of similar skill level together. Players are arranged into divisions; these divisions are sorted into “tiers” of increasing difficulty. At the end of a season, players who finish at the top of their division are promoted into the next higher tier, while players who finish at the bottom of their division are relegated into the next lower tier. Players who are interested in signing up can add their names to the BGG Star Realms League Waiting List. (Players must have a BoardGameGeek account in order to participate.)”
Star Realms Fan Page Tournament League
A note from the organizer: “Are you looking for more out of your digital Star Realms habit? Do you want to test your strategies against other Scout-scrapping addicts? The ‘A Star Reams Fan Created Community Page’ on Facebook is a complete fan community resource. After you join, converse with nearly one thousand other fans, meet your rivals, discuss strategies, and participate in digital tournaments. We feature two types of digital tournaments on the Facebook page. Twice monthly we host best-of-three, match play brackets. These are single elimination, typically attract between 100 and 150 players, and take about two weeks to complete. Once a month we run a more casual survival/endurance format with Gambits. Occasionally we also feature special team format events and invitationals. Participation instructions are clear and sent with event invite. To receive invites, join the ‘A Star Realms Fan Created Community Page’ on Facebook. Read the Pinned Post for guidelines and the community In Game Name list. Add your name and then friend request George Smith to await your tournament invitations. For additional information, contact Matt Newburg (TheCutter) and email@example.com”
Epic Card Game Store AvailabilIty
The wait is finally over. Epic Card Game, the strategy card game of mythic battles, is now available in retail stores. Please ask your local gamestore to carry Epic Card Game if they don’t have it yet. Epic is a complete game in one box, supporting up to four players, with 120 unique game cards and eight token cards, with an MSRP of just $14.99. Epic is a card game designed to start quickly but also to reward deep, strategic plays. In Epic, you take on the role of an elder god, in conflict with other elder gods. The cards in your deck are your champions, who fight for you, and events, which represent your will imposed on the mortal realm.
