Although, today is Saturday and I spent 2 hours selling Heroclix, I managed to see the entire dealers hall. I don’t know if I’m getting old or if the games and products are just getting to be that boring.
I did see a few things that caught my eye. I hope to get copies of the following games: PackOGames, Drunkquest, Everything HABA, and Fleamarketeer.
This year’s con seems very much Miniatures gaming oriented. This is the first time I’ve noticed companies like Badger (makers of high end air brushes) & Smooth-On.com (mold making & casting products).
I will say that I’m disappointed with the lack of presence of the big game companies in the dealer hall. To me it’s like them running their running tournaments and other pay for play events are good enough. What about the casual player, who might not be ready to drop money on a game, regardless of how much people rant about how great a game is? The exception to this are Mayfair & Fantasy Flight Games.
I hope you take time to come to Gencon and play some games. Remember Sunday is Family Fun Day, where you can get 4 passes for $35.
