Preview Brand New Titles at Gen Con by:
Thames & Kosmos brings a curated selection of high-quality board games from the prestigious Kosmos line to the USA. Working with highly esteemed authors and designers, Kosmos games are German engineered, beautifully made, and are quick to become enduring family favorites and game night staples.
This year’s Gen Con attendees will have the opportunity to preview five brand new titles coming later this fall:
Tumult Royale: In this highly interactive game of resource management and control, players are royals who grab as many assets as they can within in a limited amount of time. Armed with resources like stone, tools, and bread, they seek to gain power and territory by acquiring pastures and erecting castles and statues around the countryside. But if the royals are too greedy and take too much from their subjects, the subjects will revolt and punish their selfish leaders. This is the first game by Klaus Teuber, author of “The Settlers of Catan,” created in collaboration with his son, Benjamin Teuber.
Steam Time: The year is 1899. For centuries, myths have been told of strange crystals with the supernatural properties that can distort space and time. In a race to exploit these discoveries, the rapidly industrializing nations have used them to construct gigantic steam-driven airships to travel through time and space. The race is on for long-lost knowledge, vanished cultures, and hidden treasures. Travel to past ages, search for crystals, and use your crystals wisely to stay ahead of your competitors. By Rüdiger Dorn, creator of “Istanbul” and “Jambo.”
Legends of Andor: The country Andor is in danger. From the forests to the mountains, the enemy horde encroaches on the castle of the old king Brandur. Only your team of heroes opposes them – will you succeed in defending the realm? Whether you are seeking the witch for a special medicinal herb, extracting valuable gems from the underground mines, or battling the ancient dragon in an epic finale, each legend is filled with risk and adventure! This fantastic social experience includes the base game and two expansion packs.
Additionally, Ubongo, Dimension, Lost Cities (Card and Board Games), Kahuna, and Dohdles will be available to purchase at Booth #3039. Large-scale versions of select games will be in the Family Fun Pavilion on Saturday from 4-6 pm and Sunday from 10-11 am. Demos of all 11 titles are scheduled everyday from 10am-6pm.
