News Time with Game Gumshoes – What? Even More Gencon News!
How are your Gen Con 2015 preparations? The big show arrives soon, and the Gen Con team is ready for another record-breaking, indescribable gathering of gamers!
Take Care of Yourself at Gen Con
Experiencing all that Gen Con has to offer can take a lot out of a body. Make sure to stay hydrated, get sleep, and get your meals in between games. Take advantage of the numerous ways Gen Con offers to take care of yourself and your family while enjoying your time, including:
The Quiet Room– Found in Room 237 of the convention center, the Quiet Room is a self-monitored area where you can de-stress, decompress, and regroup. Thursday through Saturday, 8 am – 8 pm and Sunday, 8 am – 4 pm. Note: the Quiet Room is not intended for sleeping, but instead for taking a moment for relief from the energy of the convention.
Nursing Areas– Mothers, are you interested in a relaxing, private place to feed your child? A private area is located in the back of the Training Grounds area of the Exhibit Hall and nursing station lounge chairs found in the woman’s restroom in the Crossroads concourse are available to provide privacy for nursing mothers.
On-site Spa– Feeling tense? Let Enroute Spa help work it out. Their Gen Con menu centers upon chair massage, the most convenient and effective way to deliver wellness in a public setting. Chair massage includes manipulating muscles of the head, neck, back, arms, and hands to bring a relaxation and a better focus to gamers. You can find them in the Crossroads Concourse.

The Zoku Tribe Wants You
What if gamers could identify everyone in a 300-foot radius of them that plays their favorite games? With the free Zoku app, they can. In fact, the gaming community is already one of the most popular on Zoku!
It’s simple: download the Zoku app, identify your passions by joining tribes that interest you (or create your own tribes), then venture out into the world. Zoku continually scans people within 300 feet of you and notifies you if someone with a similar interest is in your vicinity. You can then message that person and connect in real life.
And the best part is that Zoku doesn’t need a network connection to work. You can even be in airplane mode. Zoku works offline, off the radar, and underground. Zoku is particularly useful at events like festivals or conferences such as Gen Con. In a sea of gamers, the Zoku app can help the like-minded connect, no matter if their interests are obscure or mainstream.
To celebrate the gamer community, Zoku will hand out complimentary beer at the Sun King Brewing tent to the first 1,000 people who have the Zoku app. Then, on Friday, July 31, Zoku will host a party on Georgia Street from noon to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live music by crowd favorite 90s Daughter.
