So for a while I have thought that quick reference cards were a good idea. In a way they might be more helpful that a Game Master’s Screen. Skirmisher Publishing thought you should know about their new product.
In Cards & Quest, conflict, magic, and skills can all be resolved using a standard deck of 52 poker cards in a system that is intuitive, fun, and simple and which presents an enjoyable combination of chance and strategy. Each of the custom decks has printed on it for quick reference and seamless game play the Combat Actions available to characters affiliated with one of eight elements, Earth, Fire, Heaven, Lake, Mountain, Thunder, Water, and Wind.
Cards & Quests will be fully supported in a number of ways by Skirmisher and the d-Infinity multi-platform game supplement. Skirmisher is currently in development with a book of monsters inspired by the myths and legends of Classical Greece and a preview of it appears in d-Infinity Volume #7: Holidays & Celebrations. This will be the first of several Cards & Quests sourcebooks affiliated with Skirmisher’s Swords of Kos Fantasy Campaign Setting, a system-free swords-and-sorcery milieu set in a Dark Ages version of the Mediterranean region.
