I am so glad that I was part of this. I wish some of the larger vendors would come back and I was surprised to see some vendors not there. Here are the stats and information that sum up Origins Game Fair 2015.
Columbus, OH-June 8, 2015 – Origins Attendance Hits Over 15,000! Origins attendance hit 15,938 unique badges in its 40th anniversary year show in Columbus this past weekend. Last year’s unique badge sales were 12,902 (39,214 turnstile). “We could not provide the event each year without the support of our sponsors, especially Mayfair Games, our long time show co-sponsor, our exhibitors, our volunteers and all the GM’s that help make the show great,” said John Ward, Executive Director of GAMA which runs the convention, “We also want to thank the fans, who come out every year and support us.” Star City Games set a new Invitational attendance record with 665 players at their Magic: The Gathering event. The show has experienced growth in all areas, with the addition of the WizKids World Championships, the expansion of Origins Trade Day, and adding booths in the Gaming Hall, Exhibit Hall and Miniatures Hall. Origins 2015 featured over 4,000 events and expanded gaming opportunities for attendees. “Origins 2015 was a very good show for Mayfair,” said Larry Roznai, President of Mayfair Games, “ Our demo tables were full all weekend and we had great attendance in our Mayfair Room D Pod events and we saw increased participation in our ribbon program meta game.” “The 2015 WizKids World Championships was one of the best events we’ve run in recent memory,” said Justin Ziran, President of Wizkids Games, “Attendance exceeded expectations and the Origins staff went out of their way to make us, both WizKids staff and players, feel welcome. Players raved about the comfortable space and easy access to amenities, including the hotels, parking and food. We look forward to next year and can’t wait to start planning.” Origins Game Fair will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center June 15-19, 2016. Hotel blocks will open for reservations beginning Sept. 1, 2015. Find out more at the website: http://www.originsgamefair.com.
