This is the latest information from Gencon. The first article is about a Con sponsor. I have had a personal experience with this years sponsor.
I was in Indy for Star Wars Celebration 3 with my family. It was a non-costume day for us because it was raining that day. We hadn’t been prepared for the rain, so we were a little wet. We were in the mall area and were hungry so we decided to stop at a restaurant called P.F. Changs. We told them how many we had, 4. The hostess informed us that there would be a 30-45 minute wait. We were okay with that because we knew that would be the standard time with the convention in town. When we told her we were fine with that, the hostess said “Sir, did you know that there is a food court upstairs?”. This was the day we decided we would never eat at P.F. Changs ever.
We left there and walked down the street. We saw a restaurant called Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. We walked in and it was the fanciest place I had ever been in. They had a piano bar in the front, the MAÎTRE D’ was in a tux with tails. I knew this place was going to be expensive, but it’s not like this happened everyday. They didn’t mind that we were in jeans & t-shirts or that we were soaking wet, all they cared about was that we wanted to eat there. There was a buser that folded a napkin into some oragami design, sat it in from of my daughter, and when my daughter accidentally dropped the napkin it was caught and refolded with ninja-like skill. They custom made a drink for my wife. Bottom line… these people were amazing, please try them out. You won’t be disappointed.
